To create a true family feeling,
the best way to start is
with a real family.

To create a special
SUMMER feeling, the best family is ours!

Paula Roberts

I am a life-long educator, and I began as a Kindergarten teacher. My husband Gene and I founded Robin Hood in 1953, and it became Brookville’s Robin Hood Country Day School four years later. I have been proud to serve as director of the nursery school, and also as past president of the Nassau-Suffolk Council for Early Education and founder of the Roslyn Creative Workshops for Children. What can I say? I love kids, especially my own . . .

I grew up here at Robin Hood and have worked in many capacities. I earned my BA in Psychology at Hofstra, as well as a LLM in Law. Practicing law was intriguing, but after a few years I realized that my true calling was here in “The Forest.” I have been the Nursery School director for over 20 years now, and summer finds me all over camp. I am a member of the Long Island Association of Private Schools and Day Camps, the American Camp Association, and – best of all – The Roberts Family!

I guess you could say I am the Numbers Person. After earning my BS from Boston University, then an MBA at NYU, I became Director of Corporate Finance at TWA. Like my sister Kathie, I was drawn back to “The Forest,” where I oversee budgets and stay very much involved with our daily operations. I am a member of the Long Island Association of Private Schools and Day Camps, the American Camp Association, and a former Robin Hood camper-waitress-counselor.

Of course, I grew up at camp too – from kitchen staff to assisting the assistant director. I graduated with a dual degree in secondary education and special education from the University of Wisconsin. My law career has kept me most occupied, and now I am at a point where I can have my s’more and eat it too: I now realize the dream of continuing my law practice and spending the entire summer at Robin Hood. I have coached basketball, softball and baseball, and was coach for the Jericho soccer travel team Division 1. I am an avid marathon runner, so I can keep up with campers – and I do!
